Education

Education is important to the future of our state and it's important to families, businesses and leaders. Education reform starts with providing a quality education for all-- without cutting services like the General Assembly recently did. Continued >

Taxes

Taxes

Our legislature continues the same old same old tax and spend politics because it is run by the same old tax and spend politicians. As we all struggle in the most challenging economy since the Great Depression, raising taxes is the last thing our elected leaders should have done. Continued >

08/27/10 Free speech

DSCN2762-1

As we have mentioned that the slanderous personal attacks have started from Grier Martin III- so has begun the stealing of signs.

Above is a picture of a homemade sign. Why did they have to make a homemade sign? Because the yard sign supporting our campaign was stolen right after they held a Meet N’ Greet in their home. They now have another Henion For House sign up in their yard and hopefully this large banner will discourage anymore would be thieves.

08/24/10 Refusing Honest Debate

Henion_GrierHiding_Final_1-1

Grier Martin III knows he can’t hide the fact that:

He raised and added numerous taxes to citizens and small businesses

He voted to increase spending every year in office

He voted for a budget that will leave NC with a possible $7billiion deficit for 2011

He refused removing the Charter Education cap despite a minority drop-out rate of 45%

He stands for taxpayers funding political campaigns, more spending, and more taxes

08/23/10 Grier Martin III hides from issues

Is Grier the super hero that he claims to be or just a masked man?

robin

Grier Martin III has refused to debate Steve Henion for 1 simple reason: he will lose on the issues.

What has he resorted to doing? Attacking Steve Henion personally.

How is he doing this? For now he is having a Washington DC company called ‘American Directions’ formally knows as ‘The Clinton Group’ make phone calls masking as a survey company only to then say how bad a person he is

We received the following email from one of our supporters this weekend:

“I received a survey call on Friday at 6. After some general questions they asked “here are some of the reasons people have told us they will not vote for Steve Henion, please rate them”. After those 10 questions, they asked “here are some reasons people have told us why they will vote for Grier Martin”.

At that point I told him this was not a survey but a 10 minute political ad and I wanted his name, his firm’s name, who hired his company, and their phone number at which point the call ended.”

Grier Martin III knows he can’t discuss the facts like he:

* Raised & Added numerous taxes to its citizens and small businesses

* Voted to increase spending every year in office

* Voted for a budget that will leave NC with a possible $7 Billion deficit for 2011

* Refused removing the Charter Education cap despite a minority drop-out rate of 45%

Grier Martin III knows he cannot defend his voting record so he is left with only one alternative-attack Steve and his family personally.

See to it that politics isn’t “played as usual”, know what each of them stands for:

Steve Henion: Jobs, Economy, Education

Grier Martin III: Tax payers funding political campaigns, More Spending, More Taxes

These are the facts Grier Martin is trying to avoid – please help us by notifying our campaign whenever you come across these tasteless tactics and tell those who are doing it you don’t like it.

Thank you!
